About the Event
Held in front of the Historic Haywood County Courthouse on Main Street, the free community events will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on three Friday evenings throughout the summer. Residents and visitors are invited to gather in the heart of downtown to enjoy authentic mountain music and dance traditions that have entertained generations for decades.

In addition to performances by some of the Appalachia’s finest bluegrass musicians and clogging teams, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in traditional public square dances. Everyone is encouraged to join in the fun. No experience is necessary.
For decades, the Mountain Street Dances have served as a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of Western North Carolina, bringing together families, neighbors, and visitors for evenings filled with music, laughter, and community spirit.
