is transformed into an art and craft marketplace for this
one-day event; widely know as one of the finest in the region.

Held during the during the height of the color season in
the Great Smoky Mountains, the Church Street Art the Church
Street Art &
Craft Show attracts & Craft Show attracts more than 20,000
visitirs. Over 100 artists, crafters and food visitirs. Over
100 artists,
crafters and food vendors from through out the southeast
will line Waynes ville's Main Street to help celebrate
the festival.
What began as a small gathering of artists and craftsmen
has evolved into a high quality, well-bal anced, juried show
now widely known as one of the finest in the region. Downtown
Waynes ville's picturesque Main Street is closed to vehicular
traffic the day of the show, transforming it into an art
and craft market place.Local musicians and dancers perform,
adding to the festive atmosphere and the mountains provide
a dramatic backdrop.
Founded in 1983 by artist Teresa Pennington and Richard
Miller, the Church Street Art & Craft Show is now sponsored
by the Downtown Waynes ville Association.
