The Jeweler’s Workbench Stop in and see our featured artist Terry Thompson from Waynesville. Zealandia Designs! Terry believes that making something with your hands (and head and heart) fulfills a human need to create, to leave proof of your existence and often times to be part of something greater than yourself. She grew up in Colorado, surrounded by the incredible beauty of the mountains. The dynamic local culture with their wonderful western silver jewelry made an impression on her. When she moved back to Colorado later in life, she decided I wanted to become a silversmith jeweler. When she’s not in her studio, you'll often find her in her garden. Much of her inspiration as a jeweler comes from plant life — the native and ornamental trees and flowers growing near her home. Nature is abstract, lending itself to colorful interpretation in both her jewelry & her landscaping. 80 N Main St 828-456-2260 thejwbench.com
